Born in the Swedish mountains: peak performance
Back to 1986, the year Peak Performance came to life, born in tiny Åre, in northern Sweden. Two passionate skiers decided they didn't want to settle for the outdoor clothing of the day. They wanted something as exciting as the mountains themselves. Excellent quality combined with a simple and attractive design. Thus Peak Performance was born, with a passion for adventure.
It was a time when people were tired of current outdoor clothing, due to poor quality and extravergant colors. That's where Peak Performance made a change, designing Ski jackets with leather details and flannel shirts. Initially, the intention was to sell these clothes only to a small group of friends. However, the orders poured in after the first catalog and they immediately had to hire more people to keep up. Then a breath of fresh air in the world of skiwear, now one of the biggest brands for all types of outdoor gear. With an eye for detail, high quality and a passion for adventure in the mountains.

On the way to the Peak
In the 1990s, the brand really took off. It started out as the brand for skiers, but soon expanded their territory to all kinds of outdoor adventures. Think of clothing that wasn't just for the ski slope, but just as stylish and functional for other outdoor activities. It was the time when the brand appeared on the radar of a wider audience, not just in Scandinavia. Working with advanced materials and technologies such as GORE-TEX and PrimaLoft, the brand made great strides. In addition, Peak Performance was not satisfied the image that they were just trying to make a fashionable statement. As a result, they decided to change course and focus on sustainability. From using eco-friendly materials to reducing their carbon footprint, they embraced a greener approach.
As of today, Peak Performance is one of the biggest outdoor clothing brands, with clothing for a lot of different outdoor activities from skiing to golfing. The brand has an international team of experts who are driven by constant innovation. They bring out new products every season, setting new standards in the outdoor world.

Peak Performance: Consistency of quality
For Peak Performance, the route to quality all starts in Stockholm, where its headquarters are located. Here works a team of experts that explicitly focuses on testing and researching new materials. Peak Performance is critical in selecting the right fabrics, putting durability and functionality first. They use different premium technologies, which contributes to the consistency of Peak Performance's high quality products.
Among other things, they use GORE-TEX. GORE-TEX products are a revolution in waterproof protection. The material is a waterproof, breathable material applied to a product to protect you from mountain conditions. Examples include breathable Gore-Tex for waterproof jackets or innovative insulation materials for heat retention, each material is carefully chosen to meet Peak Performance's high standards. In addition to GORE-TEX technology, Peak performance also uses PrimaLoft, also called synthetic insulation. This is an insulation composed of artificially produced fibers, such as polyester or polypropylene, that are designed to hold air and create warmth. These fibers are often hollow or have a curled structure, allowing them to form air pockets that provide insulation against cold temperatures. Even in humid conditions, PrimaLoft continues to insulate effectively.
But it's not just the choice of materials; it's also the craftsmanship. Every stitching, every seam, shows dedication to perfection. With an eye for detail, they guarantee that each product is of a high quality. Peak Performance believes that the gear you wear is an extension of yourself. Therefore, this is very noticeable when you wear the clothing. Peak Performance also advocates a sustainable life cycle of their products for people to enjoy longer than one season.

Through the snow like a professional
Besides the warmth and comfort Peak Performance offers, they do everything they can to get you down the mountain like a pro. For example, they work closely with their Friends. These are all athletes who have achieved a lot in the snow. Every item Peak Performance makes is made in collaboration with their community of Friends and 'Approved by pros'. This ensures that every detail is put under the magnifying glass to ensure optimal results on the slopes. For example, they work with freeriders Elisabeth Gerritzen, Carl Regner and many more!
Contribution to environment
Peak Performance is working hard to meet their goals set for 2030 (reduce their climate impact by 50% and ensure 100% circular products) and 2050 (become climate neutral). But where did this adventure begin? In 2012, the brand took their first step, stopping chemical processes. In the years that followed, the brand joined several organizations working to make working conditions during production more sustainable and optimized.
Recently, the brand has also launched its own site where you can sell and buy worn clothing. With this step, they make sure that worn clothes get a new life. In addition to these steps, the company is also very innovative for example, since 2015 they color their products using Drydye, with this way less water is consumed, energy consumption is reduced and the color penetrates deeper into the fibers, which also makes the color last longer. Peak Performance also started in 2016 to replace PFAS in the products' water-repellent treatments. This is because PFAS is very chemical and very harmful to the environment.
