What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.

  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

Product information
  • Leg gussets zip from slim to bootleg fit
  • 60 g/m2 fill: no midlayer bottom needed
  • Fully seam sealed 10.000 mm HIPE® membrane
  • No ventilation zips, so heat cannot be dumped
  • Slim cut: little room for thick layers under
  • 10.000 mm is mid-range for long, heavy rain

The Peak Performance Whitelight Insulated Pants Women are insulated two-layer ski pants for lift-served resort days, built on a HIPE® hydrophobic PU membrane rated 10.000 mm water column and 10.000 g/m2/24h. What separates them from most insulated ski pants is the zippered leg gusset: it opens the lower leg from a slim silhouette to a bootleg cut, so the same pant works over ski boots and with winter boots in town.

Who are these ski pants for?

These are for a woman who skis piste and resort days and wants one warm pant she can pull on over a base layer without adding an insulating midlayer bottom. The Whitelight Insulated Pants Women also carry over to everyday winter wear thanks to the 4-way stretch fabric and the adjustable silhouette. They are not the pant for high-output ski touring or skinning: the insulation is fixed and there are no thigh or side ventilation zips, so heat cannot be dumped on a long climb.

How warm and how waterproof are the Whitelight Insulated Pants?

Insulation is 60 g/m2 at the body, combining Solarcore® rubber foam, Pinneco Mantle™ and recycled polyester filling for warmth with little bulk. The 70D midweight shell carries a HIPE® membrane at 10.000 mm / 10.000 g/m2/24h and the construction is fully seam sealed, which covers cold, snowy and showery resort weather. Over hours of heavy rain or wet spring snow, 10.000 mm sits in the mid range rather than at the top.

Which size should you choose?

The cut is slim through the hip and leg, so there is little room for a thick insulated layer underneath. Use the size chart on this page to compare your measurements, then fine-tune the waist with the velcro straps. Sizes run XS to XL; XS is offered in Black only.

How is the Peak Performance Whitelight Insulated Pants Women constructed?

The build is two-layer: a 70D midweight face fabric in 100% polyester bonded to a HIPE® hydrophobic PU membrane, with separate linings rather than a laminated backer. The membrane is the brand's own and is rated 10.000 mm water column and 10.000 g/m2/24h moisture vapour transmission. Every seam is sealed, so water cannot track in where the panels meet — relevant on a pant, which spends the day sitting in chairlift snow. Inside, the insulation package stacks Solarcore® rubber foam, Pinneco Mantle™ and a recycled polyester filling at 60 g/m2 across the body, and a body-mapped stretch lining keeps the pant moving with the leg instead of against it. A RECCO® Rescue System reflector is built in.

Do these ski pants work for resort skiing and for ski touring?

For lift-served resort skiing the Whitelight Insulated Pants Women cover the essentials: snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic at the lower leg, Cordura® reinforcement where edges and boot buckles make contact, zippered hand pockets, a zip fly with hook-and-eye closure, elastic at the back waistband and loops on the inside waistband for suspenders. The zippered leg gussets widen the lower leg over ski boots and close again for a slim look off the hill. Where they stop is uphill travel: with fixed insulation at the body and no listed ventilation zips, a skinning ascent will overheat you. Static deep-cold use is also outside the brief — 60 g/m2 at the body is tuned for moving, not for standing.

What are these pants made of and how do you wash them?

The shell is 100% polyester, the linings are 100% polyamide and a 89% polyamide / 11% elastane stretch panel, and the filling combines 100% recycled polyester with 100% rubber foam (Solarcore®). That mix gives 4-way stretch in the shell and abrasion resistance where the Cordura® reinforcement sits. Machine wash at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out, with all zippers closed and liquid technical detergent, then rinse twice. Skip fabric softener and bleach, line dry in the shade or tumble dry on low — a low tumble after washing helps revive the water-repellent treatment. Do not iron, dry clean or professionally wet clean.

What makes the Whitelight Insulated Pants a more responsible choice?

The Peak Performance Whitelight Insulated Pants Women are made without intentionally added PFAS, and the main filling is 100% recycled polyester. Washing with a technical detergent and tumbling on low keeps the water repellency working, which is the practical way to keep a pant like this in use for more seasons.
