Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.

- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

1. Check your items

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping

The Mountain Studio 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket (Z-4) is an uninsulated three-layer hardshell for skiing and snowboarding, on groomed pistes and in backcountry terrain. It is built from a 3-layer ALP-3 mini ripstop with stretch, with fully taped seams, YKK Aquaguard zippers and a PFAS-free DWR treatment, and it carries no insulation at all: the warmth level is set by your midlayer. Two single-tone colourways, Kelp (the beige option) and Black Onyx (the black option), keep the silhouette clean and largely unbranded.
Who is this jacket for?
The 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket suits a skier or snowboarder who wants one protective shell for resort days and off-piste laps and who prefers to regulate warmth with layers rather than with built-in insulation. It is not the jacket for standing still in the cold, for long lift rides or for spectating without an insulating midlayer underneath. Women who want a women's-specific cut through shoulders, chest and hips should look elsewhere: the pattern is men's-based unisex.
How weatherproof is the 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket?
Protection comes from the construction rather than from a published number. The Mountain Studio laminates three layers into one fabric, tapes every seam and fits YKK Aquaguard zippers; underarm ventilation zippers let you dump heat on the climb or on a warm spring day. The Mountain Studio does not publish a hydrostatic head in mm or a breathability figure in RET or g/m²/24h for this jacket, so if you need documented test values before buying, this is not the shell to choose.
Which size should you choose?
The Mountain Studio 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket has a regular, ergonomic cut in sizes XS to 2XL, with stretch fabric and a high-reach arm construction that leaves room for a base layer and a midlayer underneath. The manufacturer advises women to consider sizing down for a closer fit. For everyone else, check the size chart before ordering.
How is the three-layer construction built?
The Mountain Studio 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket (Z-4) uses a 3-layer ALP-3 mini ripstop with stretch: face fabric, functional layer and backer bonded into a single laminate, so there is no separate loose lining to flap or soak. Every seam is fully taped and the zippers are YKK Aquaguard. A PFAS-free DWR finish on the face fabric makes water bead and run off instead of soaking into the outer surface. The mini ripstop weave gives the fabric its grid structure; the stretch in the face fabric works together with seam-free shoulders and a high-reach arm construction so a pack strap or a pole plant does not pull the hem up. The Mountain Studio names no membrane brand or type for this jacket, and publishes no water column or breathability figure.
Does it work for ski touring and freeriding?
On the piste, the 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket covers the resort essentials: a helmet-compatible hood, an internal snow skirt for deep snow and tumbles, a ski pass pocket, two chest pockets, two hand pockets and an inside chest pocket. Off-piste and on the skin track, the underarm ventilation zippers and the stretch fabric matter more than pocket count, and the sidecut hem and cuffs keep the jacket sitting where it should over a harness or bib. Where it stops: this is an uninsulated shell, so on a cold chairlift you will need a proper insulating midlayer, and for weight-critical fast-and-light touring there is no published garment weight to plan around. It also doubles as a hiking, travel and city shell in wet or windy weather.
What is the fabric made of and how do you wash it?
The Mountain Studio does not publish a fabric composition for the 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket, so the only material information available is the platform itself: a 3-layer ALP-3 mini ripstop with stretch. Washing a three-layer shell is straightforward. Close all fasteners, turn the jacket inside out and wash cold, up to 40 °C, with a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener and bleach, and do not dry clean: softener clogs the face fabric and kills the water repellency. A tumble dry on low heat afterwards reactivates the DWR and restores beading.

The DWR treatment on the 3L Rugged Ripstop Shell Jacket is PFAS-free, and a repair kit is included in the box so a tear from an edge or a branch can be patched instead of ending the jacket's life.
