Meer informatieWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- Separate compartment for shovel, probe, beacon
- Side straps for diagonal or A-frame ski carry
- Pull-out helmet net and goggle top pocket
- No airbag system and no back protector
- One size, no back-length adjustment
- Wipe clean only, cannot be machine washed
The Peak Performance Vertical Ski Backpack 25L is a 25 litre unisex ski backpack built for freeride and resort days where skis, snow safety gear and a helmet all have to come along. A separate compartment keeps shovel, probe and beacon away from the rest of your kit, and side straps carry skis diagonally or in an A-frame. It comes in BLACK and SIERRA SAND.
Who is the Vertical Ski Backpack 25L for?
This pack suits the skier who wants one day pack that takes a shovel, probe and beacon in a dedicated compartment, carries skis when the terrain turns to bootpacking, and still has room for goggles, a hydration bladder and a spare layer. It works for lift-served off-piste days, day tours and winter day hikes. It is not the pack for hut-to-hut or multi-day trips, and it is not an avalanche airbag pack: there is no airbag system and no integrated back protector.
How much does the 25 litre Vertical ski backpack hold?
25 litres is one day's kit. The main compartment opens from the side and from the back, so you can reach the bottom with the pack still on your knees, and it holds an inner zipped pocket with a key loop plus a water-bottle sleeve. A separate snow safety compartment takes shovel and probe, the top pocket is sized for goggles, and the medium front pocket opens from either side and doubles as a sleeve for a jacket or ropes. A hydration bladder compartment with drinking-tube openings and a pull-out mesh helmet net complete the carry.
Which size is the Vertical Ski Backpack 25L?
The Peak Performance Vertical Ski Backpack 25L is supplied in one size (NS). The shoulder straps are adjustable and a waist belt with a zippered pocket takes the load off your shoulders, but there are no back-length options, so riders with a very long or very short torso should check the fit on the body.
How is the Peak Performance Vertical Ski Backpack 25L constructed?
The Peak Performance Vertical Ski Backpack 25L uses three shell fabrics. Two are 100% polyamide; the third is a 84% polyamide, 16% elastane stretch fabric that gives the pack some movement where it works against your back and shoulders. Both linings are 100% recycled polyamide. The main compartment can be opened from the side as well as from the back panel, the back panel itself is padded, and the zips are YKK reversed coil. A whistle sits on the sternum strap, and the waist belt carries loops for hanging gloves while you dig or transition.
Is the Vertical Ski Backpack 25L suitable for ski touring?
Yes, for day trips. The side straps take skis diagonally or A-frame for a bootpack, the snow safety compartment keeps shovel and probe reachable without unpacking the rest, and the hydration bladder compartment with drinking-tube openings means you can drink on the skin track. Where this ski backpack stops is volume and protection: 25 litres covers one day on the mountain, not an overnight or hut-to-hut tour, and the Peak Performance Vertical Ski Backpack 25L carries no airbag system and no integrated back protector. If avalanche terrain is on your plan, the pack carries your safety gear but does not replace it.
What materials is the Vertical Ski Backpack 25L made from and how do you clean it?
The build is polyamide throughout, with a stretch polyamide/elastane panel and two recycled polyamide linings. Polyamide is the standard choice for ski packs because it takes abrasion from ski edges and edges of lift seats without tearing at the contact points. Care is simple but strict: the Peak Performance Vertical Ski Backpack 25L must not be washed. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth, line dry it in the shade, and keep it away from bleach, the tumble dryer, the iron and dry cleaning. No waterproof rating, membrane or rain cover is part of this pack, so in sustained rain pack anything that has to stay dry in a dry bag.
What makes the Vertical Ski Backpack 25L a more responsible choice?
Both linings of the Peak Performance Vertical Ski Backpack 25L are 100% recycled polyamide, and the pack is made without intentionally added PFAS. That is the Swedish brand's wider direction: construction that lasts, with the chemistry taken out where it can be.
