Meer informatieWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 4.5 L at 170 g: water, phone and keys only
- Hydration bladder compartment plus bottle pocket
- Three-point strap holds it flush to the body
- No waterproof rating: not for sustained rain
- 4.5 L: no room for spare layers or bulky kit
- Must not be washed, only wiped with a damp cloth
The Peak Performance Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L is a 4.5-litre unisex sling bag that weighs 170 grams and is worn flush against the body on a three-point strap with a Swivi-lockster buckle. It is built for carrying water and small essentials while you keep moving, with a dedicated hydration bladder compartment and a side mesh pocket with a bottle loop. Measuring 33 x 18 x 8 cm, it sits at the waist or across the shoulder rather than on your back.
Who is the Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L for?
This bag suits runners, hikers and anyone on continuous-movement days who wants water, phone and keys close to the body without a day pack bouncing around. It is not a ski pack: the Peak Performance Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L has no ski or snowboard carry system, no helmet carry and no separate compartment for a shovel or probe, so it does not replace an avalanche-safety pack. With 4.5 litres you carry essentials, not a spare layer.
How much does the Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L hold?
Volume is 4.5 litres across outer dimensions of 33 x 18 x 8 cm, with several smaller inner pockets to keep small items separated. The main compartment closes with a YKK reversed coil zip. Inside there is room for a hydration bladder; outside, the side mesh pocket with its loop takes a water bottle. Total weight is 170 grams.
Which size should you choose?
The Peak Performance Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L comes in one size (OSFA). Fit is set by the adjustable shoulder straps and the three-point strap, which pulls the bag in flush so it does not swing when you run. Wear it over a base layer or a thin shell; over a thick insulated jacket the strap range is the limiting factor.
How is the Peak Performance Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L built?
The Peak Performance Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L uses a panelled construction: a lightweight recycled polyamide shell, a second polyamide shell panel and a polyester panel, with Ballistic nylon also used in the build. The three-point strap system with the Swivi-lockster buckle is what defines the carry — instead of hanging loose from a single strap, the bag is pulled against the torso at three anchor points, which keeps the 4.5-litre volume stable during running or fast hiking. Adjustable shoulder straps let you set the height, so the bag can ride at the hip or higher across the chest. A YKK reversed coil zip closes the main compartment.
Is the Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L suitable for the mountain?
On trail runs and hikes the Peak Performance Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L does one job well: water plus the small items you need within reach. A hydration bladder goes in the inner compartment, a bottle in the side mesh pocket with its loop, and phone, keys and gels in the smaller inner pockets. Where it stops is equally clear. There is no stated water column and no waterproof claim, so in sustained rain or wet snow treat the contents as unprotected and bag anything that must stay dry. There is no RECCO reflector and no carry system for skis or a board, and 4.5 litres will not take a spare midlayer, so for a full resort or touring day you need a larger pack.
What is the Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L made of and how do you clean it?
Shell 1 is 100% recycled polyamide, Shell 2 is 100% polyamide and Shell 3 is 100% polyester, with a lining built from recycled polyamide together with ethylene vinyl acetate, polypropylene and polyamide/elastane components. Polyamide and Ballistic nylon are chosen for abrasion resistance, which matters on a bag that rubs against clothing and rock with every stride. Care is simple but strict: the Peak Performance Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L must not be washed. Clean it by wiping with a damp cloth, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron, and do not dry clean or professionally wet clean. Let it line dry in the shade after a wet outing, with the zip open so the inside dries out.
What makes the Outdoor Sling Bag 4,5L a more responsible choice?
Part of the fibre content is recycled: Shell 1 is 100% recycled polyamide and the lining includes 100% recycled polyamide. The lightweight recycled polyamide fabric is PFC-free.
