Meer informatieWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 120 g/m2 body insulation for cold resort days
- HIPE® 4-way stretch, 15,000 mm, sealed seams
- Snow skirt with ski pant snap-in and RECCO®
- 1.51 kg: heavy, for lift-served skiing only
- Fixed insulation, too warm for spring days
- Venting limited to zips under the sleeves
The Peak Performance Men 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka is a warm, waterproof ski parka for cold days at the resort, built on a two-layer HIPE® 4-way stretch membrane with a 15,000 mm water column and fully sealed seams. Synthetic sheet insulation — 120 g/m2 over the body, 100 g/m2 in the sleeves and hood — means you wear it as a finished outer layer rather than a shell you have to build warmth underneath. The stretch face fabric and relaxed, slightly longer cut are what separate it from a stiff lightweight hardshell.
Who is this parka for?
The 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka suits the resort skier who is out on genuinely cold days and wants one jacket with full ski equipment: a fixed snow skirt with snap-in ski pant system, a helmet-compatible hood, a ski pass pocket and a RECCO® reflector. It also covers lift-accessed off-piste skiing and cold winter days off the hill. It is not the jacket for ski touring or any uphill effort: at 1.51 kg with fixed insulation it cannot be vented down or packed into a backpack.
How warm and waterproof is the parka?
Warmth comes from synthetic sheet insulation at 120 g/m2 in the body and 100 g/m2 in the sleeves and hood, which places this parka in the cold-day category of Peak Performance ski outerwear. The insulation is fixed, so the useful range is narrow — on mild spring days it will be too warm. The HIPE® membrane gives 15,000 mm of water resistance and 20,000 g/m2/24h of moisture transport, with every seam sealed. Ventilation is limited to zips under the sleeves; there are no pit zips.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is relaxed with a slightly longer body, so your usual size leaves room for a midlayer and sits over ski pants with the snow skirt clipped in. Sleeve hems adjust with velcro straps and the hem has a drawcord. Available in S, M, L and XL. Check the size chart on this page before ordering, and if you want a close athletic fit, this is not the cut for you.
How is the Peak Performance 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka constructed?
This is a two-layer build: a face fabric of 90% recycled polyamide with 10% elastane bonded to a 100% polyurethane HIPE® membrane, backed by a separate lining of recycled polyester and polyamide. The elastane in the face and the 4-way stretch membrane let the jacket move with you instead of resisting a reach or a pole plant. Protection is handled by detail rather than by a single number: all seams are sealed, the front closes with a 2-way YKK reversed coil zipper behind a storm placket with hidden buttons, exposed zippers are YKK AquaGuard®, and the hood brim is laminated so it holds its shape over a helmet.
Is the parka suitable for off-piste skiing?
On lift-accessed off-piste terrain, yes. The fixed snow skirt snaps into compatible ski pants, the hood adjusts in both height and width over a ski helmet, the cuffs have elastic wrist gaiters with thumbholes, and a RECCO® reflector is built into the garment to help organised rescue services locate you. Where the Peak Performance 2L Insulated Shell Stretch Parka stops is on the way up: 1.51 kg, insulation that cannot be removed and venting restricted to the under-sleeve zips make it a lift-served jacket. For sustained heavy rain or multi-day wet alpine use, 15,000 mm is mid-range rather than a high-end shell figure.
What is it made of and how do you wash it?
The shell face is 90% recycled polyamide with 10% elastane, the membrane is 100% polyurethane, the filling is 100% polyester and the cuffs are 77% polyamide with 23% elastane for their stretch. Wash at 40°C on a delicate cycle, inside out, with zippers closed and no fabric softener. Use a technical detergent and tumble dry low afterwards — both help maintain the water-repellent treatment on the face fabric. Remove the ski goggle wipe cloth before washing, and take the parka out of the machine promptly. Do not iron, bleach or dry clean.
How sustainable is this ski parka?
The recycled content is in the parts that make up most of the garment: the shell face is 90% recycled polyamide and the lining includes 100% recycled polyester. Peak Performance states that the parka is made partly from recycled fibers. The practical side of that is longevity — a relaxed, repair-friendly parka with adjustable hood, hem and cuffs is a jacket you keep skiing in for years rather than replacing each season.
