What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.
Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

- 140 gsm jersey, 180 g: packs down to nothing
- 35% cotton blend for a soft next-to-skin feel
- Made without intentionally added PFAS
- 35% cotton holds sweat and dries slowly
- No membrane, no insulation: zero weather protection
- Print: wash inside out, never iron over it
The Peak Performance Explore Graphic Tee is a men's short-sleeve t-shirt in a 140 gsm polyester-cotton jersey, made for hiking, travel and everyday wear in mild conditions. It weighs 180 grams and carries a seasonal printed graphic. The 35% cotton in the blend gives it a natural handfeel against the skin, which is also what separates it from a technical moisture-wicking base layer.
Who is the Explore Graphic Tee for?
This tee suits anyone who wants a simple, lightly functional printed shirt for summer hiking, travel, cragging and off-mountain days. It is not the right choice for high-output winter activity worn next to the skin: the cotton share absorbs sweat and holds it rather than moving it outwards. For multi-day trips where a fast-drying synthetic or merino base layer is needed, choose a different shirt.
How warm and weatherproof is the Explore Graphic Tee?
The fabric is a 140 gsm single jersey with no insulation and no membrane, so the Peak Performance Explore Graphic Tee offers no weather protection on its own. It works in cold conditions only as the first layer in a system, under a midlayer or a shell. In rain or wind, you need an outer layer over it.
Which size should you choose in the Explore Graphic Tee?
The Explore Graphic Tee has a regular, classic cut: straight through the chest and waist, with room to move and no close-to-the-body compression. It is offered in S, M, L and XL. Compare your chest measurement with the size chart on this page before ordering, and take the next size up if you want the tee to sit loosely over a base layer or prefer extra length. Worn under a midlayer or shell, the regular cut layers without bunching.
What is the Explore Graphic Tee made of?
The Peak Performance Explore Graphic Tee is built from a single-layer jersey knit weighing 140 gsm, blended 65% polyester and 35% cotton. The polyester carries the structure and keeps the shirt light at 180 grams; the cotton gives the surface its soft, natural feel next to the skin. The fabric has some stretch for freedom of movement in the shoulders. There is no lining, no membrane and no coating, so what you feel is the jersey itself: thin, breathable in warm air, and quick to pack down to almost nothing in a daypack. The front carries a seasonal printed graphic, available in the colourways QUIET GREY and Green Valley.
Is the Explore Graphic Tee suitable for hiking and skiing?
For summer hiking, cragging, travel and everyday wear in mild weather, the Explore Graphic Tee does exactly what is asked of it: a light, breathable top layer that packs small. On the mountain in winter, treat it as a comfort layer rather than a performance one. It can be worn next to the skin under a midlayer, but during high-output winter activity the 35% cotton absorbs and holds sweat instead of pushing it away, which leaves the fabric damp and cold once you stop. For ski touring, deep-winter days or multi-day trips, a synthetic or merino base layer is the better tool. With no water column, no taped seams and no wind-resistant panels, the Explore Graphic Tee also needs a shell over it as soon as the weather turns.
How do you wash the Explore Graphic Tee?
Composition is 65% polyester and 35% cotton in a 140 gsm jersey. Machine wash at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, with similar colours, and turn the shirt inside out before washing and ironing so the print is protected. Do not tumble dry: line dry instead, and take the tee out of the machine promptly, shaping it while still wet to keep the jersey in form. Iron cool only, and never directly over the printed graphic. Do not bleach and do not dry clean; professional wet cleaning under a normal process is fine. These rules are a little stricter than for a plain tee, and they are what keeps the print sharp over seasons.
What are the sustainability details of the Explore Graphic Tee?
The Peak Performance Explore Graphic Tee is made without intentionally added PFAS, and the cotton in the blend is sustainably sourced. Combined with a care routine that avoids the tumble dryer, that supports a long service life for a shirt designed to be worn hard in summer.
