Meer informatieWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.
Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

- 20.000 mm water column, fully sealed seams
- Transceiver-loop pocket and RECCO® reflector
- Cordura® reinforced legs, gaiters over ski boots
- No insulation: warmth comes from your layers
- Half-leg vents only, no full side zips
- Relaxed bib cut, not a slim piste silhouette
The Peak Performance Edge HIPE® 3L Shell Bib Pants are uninsulated three-layer shell bib pants for women, built for freeride and resort skiing on a 70D HIPE® ACE laminate rated 20.000 mm water column and 20.000 g/m2/24h. What sets them apart is the combination of a relaxed, high-profile bib cut with fully sealed seams, a transceiver-loop pocket and a RECCO® reflector. There is no insulation anywhere in the construction.
Who are these bib pants for?
Choose the Peak Performance Edge HIPE® 3L Shell Bib Pants if you ski off-piste and in the resort and want a roomy, fully waterproof shell bib with avalanche-safety provisions rather than a slim insulated piste pant. They are not the right choice if you want a close-fitting silhouette, if you expect warmth from the trouser itself, or if you count grams on fast-and-light ski mountaineering days: a 70D three-layer bib with Cordura® reinforcement and half-leg zips is heavier and vents less than a dedicated touring pant.
How waterproof and breathable are they?
The three-layer HIPE® ACE construction measures 20.000 mm water column and 20.000 g/m2/24h, with every seam sealed, so wet snow, sitting on a chairlift and a full day of sideways weather stay outside. Moisture management is helped by half-leg zippered ventilation, which you can open while skiing. Those values are strong, but below the top tier of three-layer ski shells.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is relaxed, with a high bib front, articulated legs and adjustable suspenders, so there is room for a base layer and a mid layer underneath. Snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic and adjustable leg endings are designed to sit over ski boots. Sizes run XS to XL; check the size chart against your own measurements before ordering.
What is HIPE® ACE and how is the bib built?
The Peak Performance Edge HIPE® 3L Shell Bib Pants use HIPE® ACE, Peak Performance's own membrane, in a three-layer laminate: a 100% polyamide face, a 100% polyurethane membrane and a woven 100% polyester backer with a P-logo print. The face fabric is a 70D midweight, which puts durability ahead of minimum weight. All three layers are bonded into one fabric, so there is no loose lining flapping against your leg, and the seams are fully sealed rather than only critically taped. A water repellent treatment keeps the face fabric from wetting out, and the garment is made without intentionally added PFAS.
How do these bibs work on a freeride day?
On an off-piste day the Peak Performance Edge HIPE® 3L Shell Bib Pants give you a high bib front that keeps snow out on deep-snow falls, snow gaiters with anti-slip elastic over your ski boots, and loops to snap into the snow skirt of a compatible ski jacket. One zippered pocket carries a transceiver loop, and the RECCO® Rescue System reflector makes you findable by rescue teams with a RECCO® detector. Half-leg zippered ventilation handles the warm part of a bootpack or a spring lap. Where they stop: ventilation is half-leg only, not full side zips, and the relaxed bib adds bulk under a harness-focused, weight-saving touring setup.
What are they made of and how do you wash them?
The main shell is the polyamide / polyurethane / polyester three-layer laminate, with a second shell panel in 100% polyester, a 100% polyamide lining and pocket bags in the same laminate as the shell. The lower legs carry Cordura® reinforcement, the area that takes ski edges and boot buckles. Machine wash at 40°C with similar colours and closed zippers, skip the fabric softener and the bleach, and do not iron or dry clean. A low tumble dry after washing reactivates the water repellent treatment, which is the single step most people skip.
What about sustainability?
The Peak Performance Edge HIPE® 3L Shell Bib Pants are made without intentionally added PFAS. Combined with the 70D face fabric and the Cordura® reinforcement, the longer service life of the garment is part of the same argument: a shell that survives more seasons is replaced less often.
