Meer informatieWhat Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.
Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.
Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.
Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.
Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?
-
Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.
-
Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.
-
Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.
Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.
Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

- 10,000 mm HIPE® membrane, fully seam sealed
- 40 g/m2 recycled Pinneco Mantle™ in the body
- Helmet hood, adjustable in height and width
- Half zip only: no full front zip to dump heat
- Light 40 g/m2 body fill, not for standing still
- Offered in S, M and L only
The Peak Performance 2L Shell Anorak Women is a lightly insulated two-layer ski anorak with a 10,000 mm HIPE® membrane, fully taped seams and 40 g/m2 of recycled Pinneco Mantle™ insulation in the body. It is built for resort and off-piste skiing in cold, wet weather. What sets it apart is the construction: a half-zip pullover with full side-seam zips rather than a full front zip.
Who is this ski anorak for?
The Peak Performance 2L Shell Anorak Women suits a skier who wants one lightly insulated, seam-sealed jacket for resort laps and side-country, in a relaxed anorak cut that still leaves room for a midlayer. It is the wrong choice if you like to open your jacket wide in the lift queue or on a climb, because the half zip and the side-seam zips are the only venting on offer. With insulation stated for the body only, at 40 g/m2, it is made for moving rather than for standing still in deep cold.
How waterproof and how warm is the 2L Shell Anorak?
The two-layer HIPE® construction of this Peak Performance anorak is rated at a 10,000 mm water column with 10,000 g/m2/24h breathability, and every seam is sealed. A PFC-free DWR treatment keeps the face fabric from wetting out in falling snow. Those are mid-range shell figures: solid for cold, damp resort days, less so for hours of heavy rain or saturated spring snow. Stated product weight is 940 g.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is relaxed, so the Peak Performance 2L Shell Anorak Women sits loosely over a base layer and a midlayer without pulling across the shoulders. It is offered in S, M and L. Check the size chart on this page for your measurements, and remember it is a pullover: you step into it over your head, with the half zip and side-seam zips opened.
How is the Peak Performance 2L Shell Anorak Women constructed?
Two layers do the work here. The face fabric is 60% recycled polyester and 40% polyester, bonded to a 100% polyurethane HIPE® membrane with 2-way stretch, and backed by a separate 100% recycled polyester lining rather than a laminated backer. Between them sits Recycled Pinneco Mantle™ synthetic insulation, 40 g/m2 across the body. Every seam is sealed, so the 10,000 mm rating applies to the whole garment and not just the fabric panels. The stretch in the membrane and face fabric, together with articulated sleeves, is what keeps a pullover shape from binding when you reach.
Is the 2L Shell Anorak suitable for off-piste and touring days?
On the piste and in side-country the Peak Performance 2L Shell Anorak Women covers the basics: a fixed hood that fits over a ski helmet and adjusts for both height and width, a laminated brim that keeps snow off your goggles, a fleece-lined chinguard, zippered hand and chest pockets and a zippered ski pass pocket. Sleeve hems adjust with velcro straps and elastic wrist gaiters seal against the glove. On moderate-output backcountry days the full side-seam zips let you shed heat, but they are the only ventilation route, and there is no full front zip to open on a sustained climb. For mountaineering, where a light, uninsulated and fully adjustable hardshell is the tool, this is the wrong jacket.
What is it made of and how do you wash it?
Shell panels and collar share the same recycled-polyester face with a polyurethane membrane; the lining and the insulation filling are both 100% recycled polyester, and the cuffs are 77% polyamide with 23% elastane for stretch. Machine wash the Peak Performance 2L Shell Anorak Women at 40 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out, with all zips closed and no fabric softener, using a technical detergent. Tumble dry on low afterwards: the heat reactivates the water repellent finish. Line dry in the shade if you prefer, iron cool if needed, and never bleach or dry clean.
What makes this anorak a more responsible buy?
The water repellent treatment is PFC-free. The face fabric is 60% recycled polyester, the lining is 100% recycled polyester, and the Pinneco Mantle™ filling is 100% recycled polyester, so recycled fibre runs through every main layer of the garment rather than appearing in one panel.
