Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
  • Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
  • If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

4. Shipping

Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.

Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.

Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.

5. Refund

You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.

This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

The Norrøna lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood is a women's lightweight synthetic-insulated hooded jacket built for ski touring and other mid to high-intensity winter activity. Two knitted recycled polyester insulations sit behind a 20d recycled nylon ripstop face fabric of 44 g/m²: 110 g/m² through the body and sleeves, 95 g/m² in the hood and along the sides of the body. The jacket weighs 320 grams in women's M, and the face fabric is deliberately air-permeable so heat and moisture escape while you are still moving.

Who is the lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood for?

It is for a woman who skins uphill and wants an insulating layer she can keep on during the climb instead of stopping to strip off. It also works as general cold-weather outdoor wear in dry conditions, or as an insulating layer under a shell. It is not the jacket for lift-served resort days, for standing at a belay or for deep cold, and it is not built for rain or wet snow.

How warm and how breathable is this active insulation jacket?

Warmth is light to moderate and intentionally so. The 110 g/m² knitted insulation in the body and sleeves and 95 g/m² in the hood and side panels are built to keep working while you produce heat; the thinner zones sit where a touring pack and your arms generate the most warmth. Because the 20d ripstop shell lets air through, the Norrøna lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood dumps moisture on a climb, but gives less wind protection than a membrane shell.

Which size should you choose in the lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood?

Norrøna cuts this jacket in a technical fit: close to the body, with articulated sleeves and a longer, asymmetric back hem. It comes in S, M and L. Check your chest and waist measurements against the size chart on this page before ordering, and bear the trim cut in mind if you plan to wear a thick midlayer underneath — the jacket is dimensioned for a baselayer or a thin fleece.

How is the Norrøna lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood constructed?

There is no membrane in this jacket, and that is the design decision everything else follows from. The Norrøna lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood pairs a 20d recycled nylon ripstop face fabric of 44 g/m² with two knitted synthetic insulations, both 100% recycled polyester: 110 g/m² in the body and sleeves, 95 g/m² in the hood and along the sides of the body. Knitted insulation moves with you and keeps transporting moisture instead of blocking it, and the light ripstop shell lets that moisture through. Total weight is 320 grams in women's M.

Is it suitable for ski touring?

Ski touring is the reason the lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood exists, and it sits in the lyngen line for that reason. On a skin track you can keep it on at a steady pace without soaking it from the inside, and the elasticated cuffs and hem, the articulated sleeves and the dropped back hem keep it in place under a pack and a harness. The hood fits over a beanie. Where it stops is weather: with no membrane and no stated water column, rain and wet snow call for a shell over the top, and in strong wind the air-permeable face fabric will let the gusts through. On a descent in cold, dry air it works well; on a lift-served day with long static periods it will feel thin, and for deep cold or expedition use you want a heavier insulated or down jacket.

What is the Norrøna lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood made of, and how do you wash it?

The face fabric is recycled nylon ripstop in 20d, which keeps weight down but is light rather than abrasion-resistant — treat rock, ski edges and sharp crampon points with respect. Both insulations are 100% recycled polyester. Wash it gently at 40 °C with similar colours, close all zippers first and skip the fabric softener, which coats fibres and reduces how well the insulation moves moisture. Tumble dry on a low setting to restore loft. Do not bleach, do not iron and do not dry clean.

What makes this jacket a more sustainable choice?

The face fabric and both insulations of the Norrøna lyngen thermo100active Zip Hood are bluesign approved and certified to the Global Recycled Standard, and the style is recorded as an OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 article. It is made in Vietnam. The jacket comes in two colourways here: Allure and Caviar Black.
