Body measurements in centimetres, from the official KJUS size chart. Measure yourself and pick the row your measurements fall in; between two sizes, go by the chest for tops and by the waist for trousers. KJUS writes a top size as the international size plus the EU size (M I 48-50) and a trouser size as the US waist size, with S, R or L for the leg length: S is short, R is regular, L is long.

What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

Product information
  • 20,000 mm membrane with fully taped seams
  • 80/60 g insulation for cold to very cold days
  • Stretch runs through shell, insulation and lining
  • No pit zips; venting limited to forearm AC-Vent
  • Fixed 80/60 g warmth: too much for mild days
  • Lined insulated build, not a weight-saving choice

The KJUS Formula Jacket is an insulated men's ski jacket built for full days of resort skiing in cold to very cold conditions. It pairs a Dermizax® EV membrane rated at 20,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h with 80/60 g KJUS Fast Thermo Core™ insulation and a graphene-treated lining, so it works as a finished system instead of a shell you have to build layers around. What sets it apart is that the stretch runs through every layer: outer fabric, insulation, lining and seams.

Who is the KJUS Formula Jacket for?

This is a jacket for the frequent piste skier who is out from first lift to last in cold weather and wants one garment that handles waterproofing and warmth together. It also covers lift-accessed off-piste days and general winter wear in cold climates. It is the wrong choice for high-output uphill skiing and ski touring, and it is more jacket than you need on mild spring days, when an uninsulated shell makes more sense.

How warm is the KJUS Formula Jacket?

Warmth comes from 80/60 g KJUS Fast Thermo Core™ stretch insulation in 100% polyester, backed by a graphene-treated lining that spreads body heat through the fabric instead of leaving cold spots. KJUS rates the jacket as best for cold to very cold climates. The insulation level is fixed, so fine-tuning happens through the KJUS AC-Vent™ vents in the lower sleeves rather than through body venting.

Which size should you choose in the KJUS Formula Jacket?

The KJUS Formula Jacket has a regular fit: standard through chest, waist and hem, body length finishing at the hip and a classic sleeve ending at the wrist. KJUS labels tops with the international size plus the EU size, for example M I 48-50, and its fit model is 188 cm tall in M I 48-50, so the body and sleeve run long for the EU number. Check your chest width and arm length against the size chart on this page.

How is the KJUS Formula Jacket constructed?

The KJUS Formula Jacket is built around a Dermizax® EV membrane laminated to a 90% polyester, 10% polyurethane face fabric with four-way stretch. The membrane is rated at 20,000 mm water column and 20,000 g/m²/24h moisture vapour transmission, and every seam is fully taped, with water-resistant zippers completing the sealed construction. Inside sits KJUS Fast Thermo Core™ stretch insulation at 80/60 g, in 100% polyester, and a lining of 89% polyester and 11% elastane that is treated with graphene to distribute body heat across the surface. KJUS calls the combination 3D Technology: the stretch is carried through lining, insulation, outer fabric and seams, so nothing in the package pulls against you when you reach or twist. The KJUS AC-Vent™ system places vents in the lower arms, where you can open or close them without stopping or taking gloves off.

Is the KJUS Formula Jacket suitable for piste and freeride days?

On the piste in cold to very cold weather this jacket is in its element: the adjustable snow skirt seals the waist on chairlifts and in soft snow, the soft neck gaiter keeps the collar comfortable against bare skin, and the removable hood can come off entirely on bluebird days. For lift-accessed off-piste days the same sealed, insulated build applies. Where the KJUS Formula Jacket stops is uphill work. With a fixed 80/60 g insulation package, a full graphene lining and forearm vents as the only named ventilation, there is no way to dump a large volume of heat during a sustained climb. Skinning, bootpacking and spring touring are jobs for a lighter, uninsulated shell.

What is the KJUS Formula Jacket made of and how do you wash it?

The outer fabric is 90% polyester with 10% polyurethane, which is what gives the face its four-way stretch; the lining blends 89% polyester with 11% elastane so it moves at the same rate. Synthetic insulation keeps its loft when damp, which suits long days in wet snow better than an untreated down fill. Wash the jacket in the machine at 30 °C on a mild programme and skip bleach, ironing and dry cleaning. A tumble dry on low heat afterwards helps the insulation recover its loft and the fabric lie flat. Wash it when it looks dirty rather than every few outings: a clean face fabric sheds water better than a saturated, grimy one, and a lined, insulated jacket of this type is not a weight-saving build to begin with, so keeping the fabric in good condition matters more than saving grams.
