Body measurements in centimetres, from the official KJUS size chart. Measure yourself and pick the row your measurements fall in; between two sizes, go by the chest for tops and by the waist for trousers. KJUS writes a top size as the international size plus the EU size (M I 48-50) and a trouser size as the US waist size, with S, R or L for the leg length: S is short, R is regular, L is long.

What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

The KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer is a men's full-zip hooded midlayer in a four-way stretch fabric of 77% polyester and 23% elastane, made to be worn under a ski jacket on cold days. It pairs a brushed interior with a quick-drying, antibacterial finish and UPF 50+ sun protection, and it belongs to the KJUS FRX series. The fixed hood and clean alpine lines mean it still works as a jacket once the shell comes off.

Who is the KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer for?

This is the layer for a skier who wants stretch and a tidy look rather than bulk: a piece that moves with you under a shell on the hill and goes straight into the village afterwards. It also suits ski touring and other high-output winter days, where a quick-drying layer matters more than loft. It is not the right choice as your outer layer in rain or wet snow, and it is not a substitute for an insulated jacket when you are standing still in deep cold.

How does the fabric of the KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer perform?

The 77% polyester / 23% elastane knit stretches in four directions, so the arms and shoulders follow a pole plant or a tuck without pulling at the hem. The interior is brushed for soft, warm contact against a base layer, and the fabric dries quickly after a hard climb. An antibacterial finish keeps the garment fresher over several days of wear, and UPF 50+ handles spring sun at altitude. Warmth here comes from the layers around it: this is a thin stretch layer, not an insulated piece.

Which size should you choose in the KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer?

The cut is a regular fit: standard through chest, waist and hem, with an average body length and classic sleeves that finish at the wrist. The brand's own model is 188 cm and wears size M I 48-50. KJUS labels top sizes with an international size plus the EU size (S I 46, M I 48-50, L I 52, XL I 54-56, XXL I 58), so measure your chest, waist, hip and arm length and compare them with the size chart on this page instead of going by the letter alone. Leave room for a base layer underneath, and remember the hood is fixed when you plan the shell that goes over it.

How is the KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer built?

The KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer is a single-fabric construction: a knit of 77% polyester and 23% elastane that stretches in four directions and recovers back into shape. The inside face is brushed, which is what gives the garment its soft hand and its warmth against a base layer, while the elastane content keeps the sleeves and shoulders from restricting a reaching or rotating movement. A full-length front zip lets you dump heat fast, and the hood is sewn in permanently rather than attached with a zip or press studs. The hand pockets are lined with volcanic yarn. Heat leaves through the fabric itself; there are no zipped vents, and none are needed on a knit this open.

Is the KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer suitable for skiing and ski touring?

On the piste, the KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer does its best work under a ski jacket: it adds a layer of trapped warmth and stretch without adding width across the chest, and the hood sits under a shell hood on the coldest chairlift rides. On a touring ascent it comes into its own, because the knit moves air and dries quickly once you stop climbing. Where it stops is weather. There is no membrane and no sealed seam here, so rain, wet snow and exposed, windy ridges call for a shell over the top. In dry, cool conditions — a spring morning, the walk to the lift, a day off the mountain — it works perfectly well on its own.

What is the fabric made of and how do you care for it?

The main fabric of the KJUS Charge Hooded Midlayer is 77% polyester and 23% elastane. Polyester carries the abrasion resistance and the fast drying; the elastane carries the stretch, which is also why the garment should never meet high heat. Machine wash it at 30 °C and skip the bleach. If you tumble dry, use a low temperature, and iron only on a low setting. Do not dry clean. An antibacterial finish is built into the fabric, so the piece tolerates several days of skiing between washes, and washing it less often is the simplest way to keep the stretch and the brushed interior intact over seasons. UPF 50+ sun protection is a property of the knit itself, not a coating that washes away.
