Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
  • Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
  • If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.

Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.

5. Refund

You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.

This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

The Helly Hansen Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket is a men's lightweight insulated jacket and midlayer for ski touring and backcountry skiing at high output. It combines breathable OCTA insulation with a 20D nylon ripstop outer fabric and a PFC-free DWR. It weighs 400 g and has a dedicated zip pocket for your avalanche beacon.

Who is the Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket for?

This Helly Hansen insulated jacket is for ski tourers who want a warm layer on the climb that keeps breathing as they build up heat. It is not a resort jacket. On long, cold chairlift rides or during long stops, the light insulation is not enough on its own. It is also not a replacement for a waterproof shell. For breaks and steep descents, Helly Hansen recommends wearing a jacket from the Odin Backcountry capsule over it.

How weatherproof and warm is the Odin Backcountry Insulator Jacket?

The Helly Hansen Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket has a 2-layer construction. A 20D nylon ripstop outer fabric with a PFC-free DWR sits over OCTA insulation, which Helly Hansen describes as warm, highly breathable and quick-drying. The exterior is water-resistant, not waterproof, because there is no membrane. In sustained rain, wet snow or storms you need a shell on top. The warmth is pitched for movement and gives you enough as you climb. It is not meant for standing still in the cold.

Which size of the Odin Backcountry Insulator Jacket should I choose?

Helly Hansen positions the Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket as a midlayer. It has articulated sleeves for mobility, elastic cuffs, an elastic hem and an adjustable hood with a flat brim. The lining contains 10% elastane. Check your measurements against the Helly Hansen men's midlayer size chart on this page. This jacket is meant to go under an Odin Backcountry jacket, so make sure your outer layer has room for it.

How is the Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket constructed?

The Helly Hansen Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket is a 2-layer insulated jacket without a waterproof membrane. The outer layer is a 20D nylon ripstop made from 52% polyamide and 48% recycled polyamide. It is finished with a PFC-free DWR that makes the exterior water-resistant. Inside sits lightweight OCTA insulation with a 100% polyester fibre, behind a lining of 90% polyamide and 10% elastane. The construction is built for high breathability, so heat and moisture can escape while you work hard on the ascent. Helly Hansen describes the insulation as quick-drying, which matters when you sweat on the skin track and then keep moving.

Is the Odin Backcountry Insulator Jacket suitable for ski touring and backcountry skiing?

Helly Hansen developed the Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket for backcountry skiing and ski touring. On the ascent, it is the layer you keep on as you build up heat. The articulated sleeves follow your arms on kick turns and pole plants, and the elastic cuffs and hem close the jacket without extra adjustment. The beacon-specific pocket has a zip opening for quick access to your avalanche beacon. The chest and hand pockets close with YKK® zippers. You can pull up the adjustable hood with its flat brim when the temperature drops near the top.

The Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket is not a complete system on its own. For breaks at the summit and for steep descents, Helly Hansen recommends adding a jacket from the Odin Backcountry capsule on top. As a standalone piste jacket with chairlift downtime, it is too light and not weatherproof enough. On resort days it works as a midlayer under a shell.

What is the Odin Backcountry Insulator Jacket made of, and how do you care for it?

The shell of the Helly Hansen Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket is 20D nylon ripstop in 52% polyamide and 48% recycled polyamide. Helly Hansen describes it as durable enough to hold up against brush. It is still a lightweight face fabric and does not take abrasion the way a heavy-duty shell does. The lining is 90% polyamide and 10% elastane, and the insulation is 100% polyester. To wash it, close all zippers first and wash with similar colours. Do not use fabric softener, and take the jacket out of the washer promptly when the cycle ends.

How sustainable is the Helly Hansen Odin Backcountry Insulator Jacket?

The Helly Hansen Odin Backcountry Lightweight Hooded Insulator Jacket uses a PFC-free DWR on its outer fabric. The main material is bluesign®, and the shell fabric contains 48% recycled polyamide.
