Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.
If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

4. Shipping
Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.
Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.
Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.
5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.
Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

- LIFALOFT™ insulation retains warmth when wet
- Light at 340 g, with a ripstop polyamide shell
- bluesign® main material and DWR-treated shell
- Water-repellent only: needs a shell in sustained rain
- Lightweight insulator, not a storm-proof ski shell
The Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket is a lightweight men's insulated jacket with synthetic LIFALOFT™ insulation and a DWR-treated ripstop shell, at a stated weight of 340 g. It is made for active days in changing weather, on and off the mountain, from hiking to skiing. Helly Hansen states that the LIFALOFT™ insulation keeps its thermal efficiency even when wet.
Who is the Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket for?
The Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket suits men who want a light insulated jacket for dynamic outdoor activity. Examples include a hike in unsettled weather, a cold ski day under a waterproof shell, or the trip to and from the mountain. It is not a waterproof ski shell jacket. If you need one jacket that protects you through a full-day storm on the piste, or you plan to wear it alone in sustained rain or wet snow, choose a waterproof shell or wear one over this jacket.
How warm and how weatherproof is the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket?
Warmth in the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket comes from LIFALOFT™ synthetic insulation made of 70% polypropylene and 30% polyester. At 340 g, this Helly Hansen insulated jacket is light insulation, not an expedition piece. The shell carries a Durable Water Repellency (DWR) treatment that makes water bead on the surface, but there is no waterproof membrane. In prolonged rain or wet snow, put a waterproof shell over it.
Which size of the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket should I choose?
Compare your measurements with the Helly Hansen men's size chart on this product page before you order the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket. Elastic cuffs and an adjustable bottom hem close the jacket around your wrists and waist. If you plan to wear it under a waterproof shell, check that your shell leaves room for an insulated layer.
How is the Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket constructed?
The Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket is built from three components. The outer fabric is 100% polyamide ripstop, a weave with a reinforcing grid that stops small tears from spreading easily. This shell has a Durable Water Repellency (DWR) treatment on its face. Between shell and lining sits LIFALOFT™, Helly Hansen's own synthetic insulation, made of 70% polypropylene and 30% polyester. A 100% polyamide lining covers the insulation on the inside. A full inner front placket runs along the inside of the front opening. Because the insulation is synthetic and, according to Helly Hansen, keeps its thermal efficiency when wet, this insulated jacket is a practical choice when sweat or moisture is part of the day.
Can you ski in the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket?
Skiing is one of the uses Helly Hansen names for the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket. On a dry, cold piste day you can wear this insulated jacket as your outer layer. When the snow is wet or a storm is forecast for the whole day, the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket belongs under a waterproof ski shell, because its DWR-treated shell repels water but is not waterproof. Off-piste in deep, wet snow it is not designed to be the outer layer. On a ski tour, the Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket works as a light warm layer rather than as a dedicated touring jacket.
Is the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket suitable for hiking and days off the mountain?
Hiking is the second named use for the Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket, together with dynamic outdoor activity in changing or unpredictable weather. The stated weight of 340 g keeps it easy to carry in a pack when the temperature rises. A zipped pocket holds small essentials, and an internal hanging loop lets you hang the jacket up in a hut or at home. Away from the slopes, the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket is available in Navy and Black with printed logos.
What is the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket made of, and how do you wash it?
The Helly Hansen LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket has a 100% polyamide ripstop shell, a 100% polyamide lining and LIFALOFT™ insulation of 70% polypropylene and 30% polyester. Close all zippers before washing. Do not use fabric softener, and wash dark colours such as Navy and Black separately. Take the jacket out of the dryer promptly when the cycle ends. Never iron over the printed logos.
What makes the LIFALOFT™ Insulator Jacket a more responsible choice?
