Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
  • Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
  • If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

4. Shipping

Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.

Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.

Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.

5. Refund

You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.

This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

The Arc'teryx Rho Bottom is a women's lightweight stretch-fleece base layer bottom for cold-weather skiing and ski touring. It is knitted from Torrent™ stretch fleece with a brushed inner face and cut next-to-skin, so it moves sweat away during steady effort and disappears under a shell trouser instead of adding bulk. Chafe-free seams throughout and a Silvadur™ anti-odour treatment are what separate it from a plain thermal legging.

Who is the Arc'teryx Rho Bottom for?

It suits a woman who skis or tours in cold weather and wants a close-fitting fleece base layer that works under ski or touring trousers. It is not an outer layer: there is no membrane and no wind or water protection, so you need a shell in wind, snow or rain. It is also not the right choice if you want a loose, relaxed fleece trouser, or if you plan to wear another layer underneath.

How warm is the Arc'teryx Rho Bottom?

Warmth comes from the Torrent™ stretch fleece itself, with a brushed inner face against the skin; there is no separate insulation. That puts the Rho Bottom in the light-warmth class: good for cool to cold conditions with steady output, and too thin on its own for static cold such as long lift rides. For those days you need an insulated layer over the top, or the insulated Rho Hybrid Bottom that Arc'teryx positions as the warmer option.

Which size should you choose in the Rho Bottom?

Next-to-skin is Arc'teryx's most streamlined cut, patterned to sit as close to the body as is comfortable, with a low-profile waistband and a high rise so it stays put under bib layers and trouser waistbands. Measure yourself and compare against the women's bottoms size chart on this page. Between two sizes, the smaller one gives a tighter fit and the larger one a looser fit. This article is stocked in S, M and L only.

How is the Arc'teryx Rho Bottom constructed?

The Arc'teryx Rho Bottom is a single-fabric garment: a Torrent™ stretch fleece in a jersey knit, brushed on the inside face so it feels soft against bare skin and holds a thin layer of still air. There is no membrane and no laminate anywhere in the construction, which is why it breathes as freely as a knit can and why it offers no barrier to wind or moisture from outside. The seams are built chafe-free, so nothing sits as a ridge under a trouser waistband or a harness. A Silvadur™ antimicrobial treatment works against odour build-up, which matters on a base layer worn several days in a row on a hut trip. The waistband is deliberately low in profile with a high rise, so it overlaps a bib or a trouser waist without doubling up bulk at the hips. One zippered thigh pocket takes a lift pass or a key.

Is the Arc'teryx Rho Bottom suitable for ski touring?

Yes, and that is the use Arc'teryx builds the Rho family around: touring, freeride and resort skiing. On the way up, the stretch knit moves with the hip and knee and keeps sweat moving off the skin; the multipurpose inseam length means it sits inside a boot liner without bunching. On the way down it stays flat under a shell trouser. Where the Rho Bottom stops is static cold and exposure. Stand at a lift in deep cold, or ski in driving snow without a shell over it, and a light fleece base layer bottom is not enough on its own. Treat it as the layer closest to your skin, never as the only layer.

What is the Arc'teryx Rho Bottom made of and how do you wash it?

The body is Torrent™ stretch fleece in a jersey knit. A stretch knit of this kind needs gentle care to keep its recovery: machine wash gentle at low temperature, inside out, with a double rinse and dark colours washed separately. Skip the fabric softener, which coats the fibres and blunts moisture transport, and skip bleach. Tumble dry gentle at low temperature and take the garment out of the dryer immediately. Do not iron and do not dry clean. Arc'teryx also discloses that the fabric can release plastic microfibres into the environment during washing, so a filter bag is worth using.

What does Arc'teryx do for sustainability here?

The Rho Bottom is made with bluesign® approved materials, body and lining listed as bluepass materials, and it is sewn in a Fair Trade Certified™ facility. The garment is PFAS compliant. The odour treatment is a biocidal product, Silvadur™, which Arc'teryx discloses openly rather than describing in vague terms.
